What was the most interesting moment of your career? To be honest, it’s having the chance to develop my own potential through joining the Chelsea Group. This happened when I reconnected with Lord Westbury and Alastair Morrison – they sponsored me in my studies in the UK more than 20 years ago.
The quality you most admire in others? Determination and teamwork.
Someone who inspires you? My father – for what he has done, for having put his own dreams aside working for the people.
Your greatest achievement? Was setting up this partnership and joining the Chelsea Group. It’s great to be part of it.
How do you describe your company’s purpose? Our philosophy is a balance of making a profit and making a difference in terms of social impact, in the context of Mozambique.
What are you most proud of with regard to Chelsea Group Mozambique? That it’s a Mozambican company. And that it’s a company built on expert knowledge and knowhow of business operations in this country.
What do you believe sets Chelsea Group Mozambique apart from its competitors? Its structure – it has the right systems in place to cater for all of the business challenges that you find in Mozambique, and its backbone is the Chelsea Group worldwide.

What makes you optimistic? That I’m associated with people who have proven to be successful in whatever they touch and who are highly regarded for structuring businesses.
How does Chelsea Group Mozambique complement the other offerings of the Chelsea Group? Our skill is clearly identifying the opportunities that exist within Mozambique – we are a business platform that can help grow the Chelsea Group in multiple directions within the country.
What do you think are the Chelsea Group’s strengths and why are you happy to be part of it? The Chelsea Group has a legacy, a history, and recognised success. It has been involved in Mozambique throughout the process: in the hard times up until we made peace, after Independence, and now when the country is really blooming. The Chelsea Group has the experience of having worked in Mozambique during all these different environments.
What’s the most important thing that you have learnt during your years in business? To not rely on expectations in business, but to rely on the facts. In other words, always bear in mind that a business without a sign is a sign of no business.
