Crossing the North Atlantic with Veteran Ian Rivers

Veteran Ian Rivers creates new world record during his solo, unsupported row of the Atlantic

Rivers travelled over 3100 nautical miles from New York to the Scilly Isles using just a sextant to navigate his journey. Determined to raise funds for the veteran community, Ian sought to do the impossible and after 85 eventful days at sea he did just that, arriving on the sunny shores of the Scilly Isles in August.

Chelsea Group becomes platinum sponsor of unprecedented Row Sentinel campaign

As part of our commitment to uplifting the veteran community, the Chelsea Group were proud to come on board as platinum sponsors of the campaign.

A true testament to the strength and camaraderie of our veteran community, Ian has taken human endurance, navigation and seamanship to unprecedented heights. The beneficiaries of the campaign are two organisations close to Ian’s heart. With Ian previously serving in the Special Forces he chose to support the Special Air Services Regimental Association (SASRA). He also selected the St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford, which is an organisation working tirelessly for the community based in his home town. Ian has also been raising awareness around mental health challenges faced by veteran personnel. We are so honoured to have played a small role in this great initiative.

Donations can still be made towards Ian’s 500,000GBP target. Click this link for more.
