Leading the way with the Leadership Trust

Offering high-impact leadership training for individuals, teams and organisations by enabling them to understand and adjust their behaviours in a way which releases the full potential of the whole team, the Leadership Trust’s programmes are ideal for anyone with existing or emerging leadership potential. Their vision is to help create trusted leadership, enabling successful organisations.

‘The Leadership Trust was founded by David Gilbert-Smith, himself a former Special Forces Officer, and with Richard’s own heritage both in the Special Forces and at The Leadership Trust, where he authored and ran courses himself, we are extremely fortunate to be welcoming him as chairman of the combined business,’ said Rob Noble. Indeed, The Leadership Trust has a special meaning for Lord Westbury who served as Deputy Chief Executive at the charity during the Eighties.

‘Even though the Leadership Trust has been around for 40 years, the full potential of its old and new programmes will be reached through: global availability; developing the programmes with academic content and accreditation to meet modern challenges relating to ethics, integrity, and compliance; and focusing on creating organisational change and leadership. The Leadership Trust, its programmes and its beliefs are both compatible internally and externally with the Chelsea  Group and the learning I personally got from my three years with the Leadership Trust, 25 years ago has served me very well,’ says Lord Westbury. ‘The 40 year celebration of the Leadership Trust was great opportunity to thank those who have contributed so much over the past years to the Trust but it also had two other benefits: a broad integration between Chelsea and LT personnel; and ideal chance to explain the objectives which hopefully will last the test of time over the next 40 years.’

Nici Johnson, the Chair of Trustees at The Leadership Trust Foundation, said of the 40th anniversary: ‘To be able to achieve this [merging] in our 40th year, with someone of Lord Westbury’s calibre and history with our organisation, is a double pleasure. These are exciting times for all of us.’
